Amy LeClair’02

“When I graduated undergrad, I was talking to a friend from high school who had gone to Smith College. She said she was jealous. I asked for clarification (she went to Smith!). She felt she had lived in a bubble, whereas I had studied inequality and was better prepared for living in “reality.” 20+ years later, and I still think about that comment all the time. My courses in women’s studies gave me a foundational understanding of privilege and intersectionality that have driven my educational and professional experiences.”
Amy LeClair ’02 is an Assistant Professor in the Division of General Internal Medicine at Tufts Medical Center and Tufts University School of Medicine, where Amy conducts health equity research focused on LGBTQIA+ patients and mentors future health researchers.
